About Me

- Name: Farmgirl Susan
- Location: Missouri, United States
Nearly everyone dreams of moving to the country at some point, but few people are crazy enough to actually do it. I'm one of those few. The short version: I'm a former cultured California chick happily turned manure mucking Missouri farmgirl. In 1994 I moved sight unseen to the middle of nowhere and have almost never looked back. The extended version can be found on my About Page: http://www.farmgirlfare.com/p/about-me.html

These are just great! I actually own a big one (says 8/10 on the handle) and it works miracles in the big muffin department. But I'm completely lost which one to use for cookies. Do you americans really make cookies that big? So there is still something to wish for Sinterklaas (our 5th december version of Santa Claus) Hurray!
In which I mean I really NEED all the sizes available.....okay three different sizes will do....
Hi Baking Soda,
I couldn't live without my scoops (also sometimes called 'dishers'). The one I usually use for cookies (like these chocolate chip cookies and these oatmeal cookies) holds about 1/4 cup/60 ml. The baked cookies end up being about 4 or 5 inches across.
Most people don't make theirs that big when they're baking at home. I got used to that size, though, when I was baking and selling cookies commercially. When people buy just one cookie, they seem to want a big one. I also personally think that a lot of cookie recipes come out much nicer when you make them extra large.
Oh, there are all kinds of sizes of scoops available! Definitely put them on your Sinterklaas list! : )
